Old Antibes and the Picasso Museum
Perched on the seafront ramparts, Grimaldi Castle has housed the Picasso Museum since 1946: the artist stayed and painted here, then donated the works of his Antibes summer. An intimate, intensely luminous place where the Riviera reveals itself anew. On the way out, the lanes of Old Antibes lead to Place Nationale and the cathedral of Notre-Dame-de-la-Platea, perfect for extending the walk at a slow pace.
Provençal market on Cours Masséna
Under the open halls of Cours Masséna, the Provençal market spreads its sun-filled vegetables, olives, socca and local cheeses every morning. You taste, you share a small plate on the go, you leave with a bouquet. The ideal place to turn a morning coffee into a lingering walk, among the scents of basil and lemon.
Ramparts and seafront
The ramparts built by Vauban and later widened in the 17th century still protect the old town from the Mediterranean. Walking the Seafront at day’s end is seeing Antibes catch fire in pink and orange, with the Esterel massif behind. On Lyad, Antibes members share their favourite coves and terraces: it is up to you to find someone to watch the sunset with.
